Grace

David Fandey | April 21, 2024
Colossians 3:12–17, Matthew 18:21–35, Luke 7:36–50

Words to remember:

“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.” (Colossians 3:12–14)

“And the lord of that slave felt compassion and released him and forgave him the debt … ‘Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’” (Matthew 18:27, 33)

Something to think about for your Community Group:

  • In order to understand grace, we must first understand the truth about our own situation. What is the truth of our situation, why do we need grace?
  • In what ways has God shown you grace personally?
  • For what do you need to seek forgiveness right now? To whom do you need to extend forgiveness? Why is that sometimes so hard to do?
  • Grace is so often misunderstood. What do we mean by the statement, “Grace doesn’t ignore sin, it deals with it and then forgives it”?

Looking ahead: Community - John 13:34–35

I’d like to serve at The Fields!

We believe God has gifted each person in the church to be an important and unique part of the whole body. How can your skills and experience help others in our community? Tap the button above if you are interested in finding out how you can serve.

Get Connected

Community Groups
Community Groups are a meaningful connection for us in the church as we walk together as disciples of Jesus Christ. In Community Groups, we strive to live out the gospel, study the Word, love and serve one another, and be on mission in our community. Sign up at fields.church/cg, or contact John at john@thefieldschurch.org with any questions.

Giving
As followers of Jesus, we have the privilege of worshipping through the joyful giving of our first fruits to financially support the gospel ministry here at The Fields. You can give online, mail a gift in, or drop it in a giving box during in-person services. Please visit The Fields giving page to learn how you can participate.

Serving
Being a part of the church means being a participant, not simply a spectator. There are many different opportunities for you to follow Jesus through serving here at The Fields. We’d love to get you connected with one of these teams. Check the “serve at The Fields” box on your Connection Card and we’ll help find a fit that blesses both you and the church.

Counseling
Uncertainty brings increased stress and strain on all of us and our relationships. Thankfully we have a Father who loves us, a church that cares for us, and biblical counselors who are ready to listen. If you feel in need of some specific care, please fill out this form. We'll follow up quickly with a way forward.

Children’s Ministry
Our Children’s Ministry classes meet weekly during both services for ages one year through 5th grade. We’d love to have your children join us each week as we learn from God’s Word together. For more information, visit the Children’s Ministry Desk or visit the Children’s Ministry page.
